Nicole d’Entremont » Partner

Nicole d’Entremont founded Waterwood Communications in 2008. She is a seasoned marketing communications consultant, journalist and educator.

Nicole brings an ideal blend of public and private sector experience to every project. She has worked in a range of senior international marketing communications roles with the federal government, including Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, Canadian Heritage, Foreign Affairs and International Trade Canada, and Industry Canada.

Her television and radio news career has taken her from newsrooms in Boston, Ottawa and Halifax to Australia. There, she managed the journalism program at the University of Southern Queensland and lectured in broadcast journalism. She also taught international business and marketing at James Cook University Brisbane. Nicole brings vision, energy and a fully integrated skill set to every project.

An expert in plain language writing and clear communications, Nicole is a member of Plain Language Association International and the Center for Plain Language. She develops and teaches courses in plain language writing, writing for the web, corporate storytelling, stakeholder messaging and media relations. Nicole is an active volunteer. She sits on the Board of Directors for The Rural Root Theatre Company and recently produced the hit musical, The Drowsy Chaperone.

Nicole has lived in Australia, Austria, Singapore and the US, and has travelled extensively. She possesses a dual Master of Arts degree in International Relations and International Communications from Boston University, a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Communications from the University of Ottawa, and a certificate in International Communications and Public Relations from Salzburg College in Austria. She is a Fellow of the Organization of American States. Nicole is fluently bilingual.
